ScovilleLadder Find your rung

Privacy

Scoville Ladder does not collect your data. There is no account to create, no server to sign in to, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

What the app stores

Your calibration, your current tolerance, and your session history — the date of each session, the heat level, the burn rating you gave it, and the optional note about what you ate.

All of it is stored on your device only, in the app's own storage. It is included in your device backups if you have those enabled, which means it is covered by whatever encryption your iCloud or local backup already uses. Delete the app and it is gone.

What the app does not do

Network access

The app makes no network requests of its own. The only network traffic is Apple's App Store framework handling a subscription purchase or restore, which happens between your device and Apple. We never see your payment details, and we receive no personal information from Apple as part of it.

Subscriptions

Scoville Ladder offers an optional subscription. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. Manage or cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

This website

The site is a set of static files. It sets no cookies, collects no email addresses, and runs no advertising or cross-site tracking.

Children

Scoville Ladder is not directed at children. It gives guidance about eating chili peppers and is intended for adults.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
